About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing active supports to people living with disabilities on the Central Coast. Our Lifestyle and Community Program allows you to work-day shifts on a casual basis. These supports cater to the individual interests and abilities of our clients and often include social outings, recreational and leisure activities. Our Day Program shifts are Monday to Friday whilst our Community shifts operate 7 days a week . Your enthusiasm and reliability will be key in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients through personal care, manual handling, behaviour support with clients of high behaviours of concern and high medical needs
  • Help clients reach their goals through meaningful activities of their choice
  • Work under minimal supervision and make appropriate judgement calls ensuring client wellbeing is upheld
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families and your team
  • Advocate for client choice and control in a way that is safe and compliant

Skills & Experience

  • An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Committed to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Please note: To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
