About the role:
As part of the Community Businesses section, the Leisure Services team focus on the delivery of customer centric services and programs that meet the health and wellbeing needs of Campbelltown’s growing population.
We are seeking an enthusiastic customer-focused Fitness Attendant with a passion for health and fitness to provide fitness programs and services available at Council’s Leisure Centres.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Be present on the gym floor, supervise and direct clients in the correct and safe form of exercise and equipment use.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Leisure Centre is ‘customer ready’.
- Carryout fitness assessments, and develop or review client fitness programs to work towards meeting client health and fitness goals.
- Assist with reception duties including cash handling, point of sale transactions, updating membership records and dealing with in-person and phone and enquiries.
- Work cooperatively as a team member to provide the required standard of service, including covering group exercise classes and personal training sessions when required.
- To set up, pack away and clean fitness and activity equipment including equipment utilised for fitness and sporting program classes.
- Routinely check fitness and activity equipment and carry out routine equipment maintenance.
- To promote centre programs and activities to participants.
- Provide prompt, effective and courteous assistance to customers and actively project a professional image.
- Support other team members with consideration, respect and courtesy.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Current Certificate IV in Fitness.
- Possess Group Fitness Instructor certification.
- Current Fitness Australia Registration.
- Current Resuscitation Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
- Current Working With Children Check with Services NSW.
- Knowledge of group fitness training and developing fitness programs for clients of varying fitness levels.
- Considerable experience in a in a similar role and in developing fitness programs for clients of varying fitness levels.
- Knowledge of relevant computer software applications and demonstrated computer skills.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in Work, Health and Safety practices relevant to fitness operations.
- Considerable experience in engaging with people and delivering higher quality customer service.
- Ability to work in a busy environment and keep calm under pressure.
