The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is a new addition to the BI team, within a small but growing IT Team that provides shared services to the 400 employees of this organisation.

Your role will require you to work closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements and design and deliver reports and dashboards.

Your stakeholder engagement skills and ability to effortlessly create rapport will be fully utilised, together with your technical skills in the PowerBI, PowerAutomate and SQL Server space.

Your role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to understand and then document reporting requirements
  • Analyse data and provide data insights
  • Design and deliver reports, dashboards and data extracts
  • Contribute to the organisation wide data strategy in going forward
  • Deliver updates to data warehouse and create new capabilities and datasets
  • Analyse source data, including that provided by external parties and design processes for importing or including in organisational reports

Your ideal background will include:

  • Bachelor level qualifications in IT or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a business intelligence of data and analytics role
  • Experience working with a BI tool – ideally Power BI, but other tools such as Tableau or QlikView would be considered.
  • Knowledge of business analysis techniques including business process design and analysis.
  • Experience with SQL platforms (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL), including stored procedure development.
  • Experience using ETL tools and techniques (e.g. Talend, MuleSoft, SSIS).
  • Experience working with an extensive range of stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience with a broad range of IT systems across both on-premise and cloud-based environments.

This role will require great communication skills and well as strong listening and problem solving skills.

The work arrangement will be hybrid, and you will be required to work from the office ideally up to 3 days per week .

The head office is based in the inner west of Sydney, very close to public transport (train station and buses).

The salary on offer is approx. $100k base plus super – on top of this you will be entitled to salary sacrificing worth up to $15,900 per annum.
