The Opportunity

We are seeking a Designer to handle all aspects of furniture design for King Living. You will ensure that designs and associated processes meet commercial standards and align with King Living’s Brand and Product DNA. This includes delivering furniture designs characterised by premium quality, elegant simplicity, comfort, functionality, and contemporary aesthetics.


The Role :
  • Collaborate with the Founder and wider team to design, develop, and oversee the production of new furniture projects from initial concept to final delivery.
  • Works in a fast-paced product development environment, ensuring timely execution of projects.
  • Maintains high standards of functional and technical performance in all projects.
  • Coordinates with key stakeholders to incorporate their inputs effectively.
  • Prepares comprehensive production documentation and develops prototypes in the in-house R&D workshop.
  • Ensures design alignment with the established direction, quality standards, timeline, and financial goals.
  • Implements cost-effective design strategies during the development phase.
  • Ensures quality and workmanship of product are in line with King Livings Brand and Product DNA
  • Engages with local and international production teams and cross-functional departments for seamless collaboration.
  • Liaises with retail, engineering, and manufacturing teams to manage design specifications, distribution, and necessary adjustments.
  • Generates product information packets in collaboration with Design Admins for cross-departmental use.
  • Manages and communicates production changes via ECN (Engineering Change Notice), ensuring clear understanding across the business.
  • Creates Product Services manuals for customer service and technicians, ensuring thorough product support.

About you
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or equivalent
  • 3+ years furniture or equivalent design experience
  • Experience with upholstery and soft furnishings design
  • Experience with variety of manufacturing processes, especially metal fabrication, injection, moulding, metal casting and CNC machining, etc
  • Practical knowledge of materials, material properties and material finishing
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks and Keyshot
  • Proficiency in producing production documentation
  • Proficiency in producing prototypes using in-house R&D workshop
