ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
8848 Disability Services is currently looking for several committed, caring and professional individuals to join our team on a casual basis leading to a permanent role, depending on future need. The advertised role has various shifts.
These are challenging roles that require the successful candidates to support customers with complex needs including epilepsy, autism, intellectual disability and behaviours of concern. Previous experience is essential.
TYPICAL DUTIES MIGHT INCLUDE :
- Supporting participants to develop and maintain independence in the community.
- Implementing behaviour support plans aimed at supporting individuals who demonstrate challenging behaviours to achieve their goals.
- Supporting customers with personal care including bowel care, and other health and hygiene issues such as eating, dressing, toileting and showering.
- Undertaking various household tasks including mealtime management, cleaning, shopping and other community access activities.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support or equivalent qualifications.
- A current Australian Driver's Licence and access to a car, as the workplace is not close to public transport. Ability to drive an 8 seater van is a must.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of our customers
- Demonstrated ability to work with Challenging behavours is a must
- Primarily the shifts are fixed however your flexibility to work casual shifts, as needed is required if you need more hours.
- NSW Working With Children Check
- NDIS Workers Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
