The role:

This Collection Specialist role is an exciting 12 month fixed term opportunity at Daimler Truck Financial Services (DTFS). We are looking for a customer focused individual to come into the role of Collection Specialist and provide exceptional service to our customers, supporting them and providing solutions when they need us the most. Based at our brand-new Head Office in Mulgrave, you will be responsible for looking after delinquent contracts for DTFS, working with our diverse and loyal customer base and provide the optimal outcome for their individual situations.

Reporting to the Team Leader of Operations, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Daily management of allocated delinquent contracts with the intent to cure and reduce our non-performing loans
  • Focussed approach towards understanding the uniqueness of individual customer circumstances and proactively supporting solutions
  • Maintaining the highest level of customer excellence across multi-channel communications and displaying a professional confidence with our customer and dealers
  • Responding to and satisfying finance customer enquiries and contract/policy maintenance requests
  • Management of our Contract Management System and Access database with clear and concise diary notes following customer communications
  • Preparation of documentation and customer information for issuing files to mercantile agent, as well as regular monitoring of the agent portal for updates
  • Meeting daily/monthly department KPI's
  • Ensuring the adherence to debt collection guidelines as per ASIC guide and local policy guidelines
  • Completion of annual company compliance requirements and legal training involving debt collection

Qualifications

Who we are looking for:

The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with exceptional verbal and written communication skills and will hold a strong ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment. Your energetic, positive and people orientated personality will ensure success in this role. Your attitude and willingness to learn, your inquisitive nature and genuine interest and empathy for people is essential for success. Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to listen and problem solve, asking the right questions to facilitate optimal outcomes for both our customers and the business will be ideal. A willingness to cross-collaborate and develop your skills within the team and support within Hardship, Customer Service, Complaints and Loss Recoveries and Settlements may be called upon during peak periods.

Whilst we would value prior experience in collections, we are flexible with considering applicants with related customer service experience, possess basic computer literacy and having had experience in an environment of adhering to compliance, call standards and KPI's.
