Why this role is for you
This is a chance to take the lead in designing and implementing Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers (WesCEF's) response to the rapidly-changing industrial landscape and a critical member of the WesCEF People Services Leadership Team. WesCEF's IR Strategy touches all facets of employment relations, compliance, industrial relations- in effect, in this role you will be the divisional lead in this portfolio, with a support network of peers across the Wesfarmers group to lean into.
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for an industrial relations and employment relations expert to provide parental leave cover until end of January (with possibility of extension).
Reporting to the People Services Manager, and leading a small team, your day-to-day will include:
- leading the design and implementation of the IR Reform Strategy;
- managing key business improvement projects such as WesCEF's approach to psychosocial harm, respectful workplaces and proactive payroll compliance;
- briefing senior leaders and the HR team to increase awareness and support the implementation of key changes in the IR/ER portfolio;
- contributing to enterprise bargaining strategy development;
- representing WesCEF in the broader Wesfarmers IR community;
- providing commercial and novel solutions to complex business problems;
- working collaboratively with the HR Leadership Team to transform the management of employment relations; and
- providing critical IR and ER support as a subject matter expert to the broader Human Resources Team and other leadership team members across the business.
About You
We are interested in hearing from thought-leaders from any background, however to be really successful in this role you will need to:
- have a deep technical understanding of the industrial relations legislative landscape;
- be a bold and motivated leader that is excited about growing the knowledge of not only their team members, but of all layers of leadership across the organisation;
- have experience in project management - including the ability to drive outcomes and influence internal and external stakeholders;
- be comfortable with payroll compliance; and
- possess exceptional communication, influencing and drafting skills!
