Appointment Pool
Success Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Cleaners for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2025.
As a school cleaner you will carry out internal cleaning duties, in accordance with the Department's procedures. The duties include the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning. In addition to this, suitable applicants would also carry out external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, cleaning of drink troughs, removal of cobwebs, other general cleaning and other such duties as required by the Cleaner in Charge. Vacation cleaning duties will need to be completed and it includes shampooing carpets and pressure cleaning various areas.
Ideally suitable applicants should be able to work as part of a team and autonomously, have good communication skills and the ability to be flexible when needed.
Success PS is located in the City of Cockburn. Approximately 640 students are enrolled in our school. We offer both mainstream and education support programs to our students. School numbers have led to a temporary level six classification for the last four years. Approximately 20% of children come from homes where English is an Additional Language (EAL/D).

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Ability to read and apply Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines.
- Knowledge of, and ability to, use cleaning equipment including polishers, vacuum cleaners and pressure cleaners.
- Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions and work as a member of a team.
