School Of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement (SSEN:BE) is seeking to establish a pool of Business Support Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.
About the role
Suitable applicants will assist the Manager Corporate Services with a wide range of business operations including financial management and human resources services of the school's operations. They will also assist in the preparation and monitoring of the school budget and develop and maintain business and information management systems. Suitable applicants will ideally be proficient in the use of the relevant systems and policies required to maintain, monitor, analyse and extract information using a range of applications such as RM Finance, Recruitment Advertising Management System (RAMS) and Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS).
About SSEN:BE
SSEN:BE is a member of the specialist schools network that operates within the Statewide Services pillar of Service Delivery. SSEN:BE provides educational support and services with schools for students who present with extreme, complex and challenging behaviours across a K-12 context. A continuum of consultative services including professional learning, consultative support and direct and indirect student support is delivered through Engagement Centres and the Midland Learning Academy (MLA). The services of Engagement Centres and MLA are coordinated through SSEN:BE which provides the administrative structure that oversees and manages these services as a statewide model of supports for schools, teachers and students. The services complement other teams working in networks, regions and schools, supporting a greater number of students across the State. Support is available across the public school system.
Engagement Centres coordinate the K-12 provision of the following three services:
- Professional learning to improve student engagement and behaviour
- Consultative support for schools needing additional assistance with planning for those students with very complex needs
- Direct and indirect support for individual students exhibiting the most extreme, challenging and complex needs.
Occasional travel, including overnight stays in Perth region may be involved as part of this position. Applicants will need to hold and maintain a current WA drivers' licence.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Considerable experience providing input and effective support to the development, management, implementation and monitoring of business operations, systems and plans.
- Well developed financial management skills, including data analysis, interpretation and reporting, and the ability to provide recommendations.
- Sound human resource management knowledge and skills, including the ability to provide effective support and input into the development, implementation and monitoring of human resource management systems and processes.
- Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to identify appropriate solutions.
