About The Role:


The Technical Advisor Digital has been created in the Department of Finance’s (Finance) Major Projects directorate to provide and lead technical expert advice that supports the delivery of the $1.8 billion Women and Babies Hospital Project (WBHP).


This newly created senior role is a vital part of the WBHP Project Team responsible for providing strategic direction and technical expertise to ensure the digital solutions for the WBHP are aligned with the existing, and future, state health information systems. The Technical Advisor Digital will lead provision of quality and contemporary strategic advice to the State on planning and architecture for integrating digital enablement into a major infrastructure project in a hospital environment.


In alignment with Finance’s Values (Collaboration, Empathy, Clarity, and Growth), the Technical Advisor Digital informs and guides a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, in accordance with the project scope, schedule, required specifications, and relevant digital strategy. Quality, contemporary, and feasible guidance is required in relation to:



  • Design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the digital infrastructure and systems.
  • Coordination of the delivery of a modern digital infrastructure that supports integration of major current and future medical equipment.
  • Planning and delivery of efficient and effective clinical care applications related to patient and staff health care services.
  • Interaction of modern support services within the building that streamline services such as pharmacy robotics or automatic guided vehicles.

About You:


With a proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex digital projects in the health sector (or similar environment) you will be able to demonstrate an ability to analyse and conceptualise complex issues to deliver effective and appropriate digital solutions that satisfy stakeholder expectations.


You have extensive knowledge and expertise of technical and commercial project management requirements (contracts, specification, drawings, and scheduling) be able to advise the State on the design, development, testing, deployment, and management of the digital requirements of a major project.


You will be able to apply well developed communication and influencing skills, and leverage your own lessons learnt to deliver exceptional digital outcomes for complex projects, and to build this capacity in others.
