Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

Despite rapid growth during this period, we remain an Australian owned and family operated with branches now located in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Cairns.
Due to this growth, we have an opportunity for a suitably qualified Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our ever-expanding team on a permanent basis. The role will answer to the Operations Manager and is based in our modern workshop located in Belmont. You will not only perform general day to day service work, but you will also support the installation and maintenance of modern vehicle safety systems and get to work on new technology including Electric vehicles. This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your knowledge and skills in this area.
Key requirements of the role -
- Perform general routine servicing, repair and maintenance on heavy vehicles and electric buses
- Running power, radio and GPS antenna cable through bulkhead panels and access both inside and outside equipment compartments on the buses – large and small
- Diagnose electrical faults on vehicle with assistance from technical support team
- Provide high quality installations including mountings, wirings, systems and testing of any equipment
- Ensure all work activities are completed in a safe manner
- Be willing to assist the team with other non-mechanical tasks as required
The successful candidate will -
- Have the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions
- Be a quick thinker and good have good problem-solving skills
- Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, client, and suppliers
- Be trade qualified with post trade experience – Preferably heavy duty mechanical trade
- Previous experience with but must have an interest in Electric Vehicles or hybrid vehicles
- Auto Electrician and Airconditioning qualifications will be highly regarded
