We are a social model of care, featuring thoughtfully designed, traditional homes across a range of suburbs in Sydney. Each home has up to 10 residents living together and participating in day-to-day activities, supported with a high standard of 24/7 personal and clinical care provided by our Registered Nurse, Social Workers and Homemakers.
We have many wonderful people in our organisation working day and night to help our residents thrive beyond their dementia diagnosis. Core to our team development is our motto – ‘Care More’. Due to the planned growth of GHA over the next 12 months, we are looking for a new Social Worker to join our team.
What Are We Looking For?
We think our model of care is unique and special, so we’re looking for a Social Worker with similar attributes. You are passionate about improving the lives of people living with dementia and their families. Pursuing excellence on behalf of those in your care is of paramount importance. You would use your social work and counsellor knowledge to form relationships with resident’s families and team members, and to support families through the changing needs of their loved one.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and external stakeholders.
- To be highly motivated and able to take initiative.
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet)
- To be highly organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Solution focussed – excellent problem-solving skills, including critical thinking
Experience (desirable)
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Social Worker (required)
- Experience in caring for residents with a diagnosis of Dementia (desirable)
- Experience in supporting a resident and their family through palliation (desirable)
- Clinical experience as a social worker within the aged care sector (desirable)
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor of Social Work/ Counselling and eligibility to register with relevant professional association.
- Current NSW drivers’ licence

About Group Homes Australia (GHA)
GHA is a professional, innovative and fast growing company in the aged-care sector.
We operate small group homes in the Eastern Suburbs, Sutherland Shire, Inner West and North Shore that are warm, luxurious and friendly, catering to a maximum of just 10 residents per home.
We support our residents to flourish, keeping them part of their local communities and engaging with them in a purposeful and meaningful way. We encourage them to be involved in the day to day running of the homes including cooking, gardening and light housework. It is a truly unique, wonderful and inviting environment in which to work. Our social model is underpinned by a high standard of clinical care and case management

Pay: $66,098.87 – $119,042.60 per year
