About the role
Reporting into the Stewarding Supervisor, the Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Stewarding Team ensuring the shift is sufficiently resourced to clean and maintain all kitchens and equipment whilst upholding the highest level of hygienic standards and practices.
Duties could include:
- Washing kitchen equipment and dishes
- Maintaining a constant supply of clean materials
- Ensuring all kitchen areas are clean and hygienically maintained, including mopping of floors and removing garbage
- Cleaning of wash-up areas
- Ensuring that kitchen cleanliness is of the highest standard
- Complying with safety work procedures (PPE) & WHS regulations
- Ensuring safe manual handling techniques at all times
- Leading the stewarding team including training, making roster changes, and delegating work tasks as necessary
About you
You will be passionate about food hygiene and looking for an opportunity where you can play a key role within the Kitchen Brigade. Someone who is able to delegate work tasks, hold the stewarding team accountable for work performed and act as a key liaison point between the stewarding team and other departments across West HQ.
What do you need to be considered?
- Previous experience in a similar role (preferred)
- Availability across a 7-day roster including days, nights, weekends and public holidays
- Possess strong attention to detail
- Rostering and ordering knowledge
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Good manual handling skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to meet with various supervisors and managers across our business
- Experience handling chemicals as well as knowledge of Material safety data sheet (MSDS)
- High level of professionalism
