This is for Part Time, Fixed Term or Casual appointments at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Manager – After Hours , to join the Team at Karratha Health Campus – Pilbara.

To be successful, you will have...

  • Demonstrated well developed clinical, managerial and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate and manage human and material resources and the achievement of agreed strategic outcomes.
  • Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; including negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence based nursing care within the relevant practice setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Medicines and Poisons Act 2014, Medicines and Poisons Regulations and the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2010.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of clinical governance principles including continuous quality improvement principles, managing change, clinical risk management and accreditation processes.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to utilise information systems.

Position Profile:

To manage and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team ensuring provision of safe high quality clinical care and appropriate use of resources within the Karratha Health Campus. Management of human and material resources and environmental safety for the provisions of a safe and cost effective care after hours. Is the designated local coordinator of Emergency Management for the hospital after hours until the designated local response coordinator arrives

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).

Area Profile

The Pilbara is WA’s second most northern region, defined by the Indian Ocean to the west and the Northern Territory border to the east. The Kimberley Region lies to its north across the Great Sandy Desert and the Pilbara’s southern reaches border the Midwest and Goldfields regions. The region covers a total area of 507,896sq km (including offshore islands). Most of the inhabitants are in the western third, whereas the eastern third is largely desert with few inhabitants. Today the Pilbara economy is crucial to the State, providing 2 of the State’s largest export revenue earners – iron ore and liquefied natural gas.
