What we're looking for

Ideally, you'll be working toward your actuarial qualifications and have some broader analytics experience in the insurance industry.

As a Product Actuarial Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting pricing and other product analytics across Greenstone's portfolio, with a primarily focus on life insurance, along with commercial pricing across various insurance products. Your role will involve utilising your technical skillset to assist with the development of commercially viable, sustainable, and innovative products while collaborating closely with our insurance partners.

Additionally, you'll provide specific analytical support for our Canadian business, working directly with on-ground teams.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop reporting, provide insights, and conduct interrogative analysis on various aspects of portfolio performance, with a particular focus on Greenstone's Canada business.
  • Conduct a diverse range of analysis, extracting data from multiple sources, performing data cleansing, checks and reconciliations, and utilising statistical tools such as R and Python.
  • Develop a working understanding of Greenstones databases and utilise them for investigations, reporting, analytics, or ad hoc insights.
  • Develop and maintain a variety of business reporting, ensuring appropriate validation and documentation.
  • Analyse premium calculations and revenue impacts for new commercial agreements.
  • Assist in experience investigations and answer audit queries on actuarial models.

Position Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in a technical discipline (Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Statistics).
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar actuarial or analytics-driven role.
  • Strong experience in data-driven coding (SQL, SAS or Python).
  • Strong conceptual, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of insurance systems and databases.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and pipelines.
  • Experience with a range of insurance product classes and different analytical techniques.
  • Experience in Python/R.
