The Opportunity
The Jetstar Engineering Team are at the forefront of delivering operational excellence. They are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of our fleet. We have an exciting opportunity available for an Inventory Officer to join the Engineering team at Jetstar.
As the Inventory Officer, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of purchasing, component repair activities, cost effective purchasing/ repairs and delivery of goods and services for the Engineering Department.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Daily requisition review and purchase
- Manage technical purchasing of all aircraft spares, in a timely manner, within approved budgets and in accordance with company policy and procedures
- Manage component repairs, loans and exchanges in a timely manner, within approved budgets and in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Maintain stock levels in line with budget
- Manage scrap, MIN/MAX levels to pro-actively identify items to be purchased
- Conduct spares float analysis post BER/Scrap action to determine component spares requirements
- Apply inventory optimisation principals in order to meet and exceed service level targets whilst minimising holding costs
- Required to interpret manufacturers and company technical documentation to ensure correct parts are being purchased
- Resolve complex parts issues
- Provide interface between Logistics department and PIR department for all material rejections, quarantine store activity and receipt discrepancies
- Effectively identify, troubleshoot and resolve planning conflicts or delays that may arise
- Monitor Inventory levels to ensure suitable availability of required parts for planned maintenance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cross business outcomes.
To be considered for this role, ideally you will have:
- Experience in Purchasing and Component Control
- Experience in Inventory Management / Optimisation within a Supply Chain environment
- Component Control Experience with the ability to develop an understanding of Aircraft industry Component Control or Purchasing
- Ability to think laterally and develop effective solutions
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and targets
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to effectively liaise with all levels of management, staff and suppliers
- A high level of integrity and commitment.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, logical and methodical approach to work.
- Strong customer focus, highly motivated and committed to continuous improvement
- Computer literacy in MS Office, Outlook and Excel
