We are looking for an Open Space Support Officer to work for a local organisation based in Palmerston. The role is 4–12 weeks, with the opportunity to go permanent.

Your new role

Provide customer service, administration, and operational support of Open Space activities.
The role will exemplify the Council’s vision to meet community expectations, deliver key organising performance indicators and maintain accountability in line with the Community Plan and customer ethos.
This organisation values the health and safety of its employees, contracting partners and the public. The Open Space Support Officer will contribute to a high-performing safety culture, conformance with the Council’s Workplace Health and Safety Management Plan and compliance with Work Health and Safety legislation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely administrative support including producing documentation, data integrity and records management.
  • Prepare draft documentation in accordance with standard templates, including but not limited to correspondence, reports, and procurement documentation.
  • Demonstrate quality customer service outcomes that align with the Council’s Customer Charter, including undertaking customer service activities.
  • Monitor and prioritise written and electronic correspondence, track follow-up actions and ensure responses are provided in a timely manner.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Certificate level or higher qualifications in business administration with demonstrated experience in a similar administrative or operational support role

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, guidelines, practices, policies and activities applicable to an office and/or local government environment

  • Demonstrated an ability to manage and present information with high attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Demonstrated high level customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated proficient computer skills.

  • The ability and proven experience to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
