The venue is located near to a stunning wine region, located 1.5 hours from Sydney and 1.5 hr from Canberra. It already has a strong food scene and is a beautiful place to live.
It’s a newly renovated and well loved local country pub looking to create a premium offering. Close to major towns and close to some amazing local wineries and views.
There is a huge opportunity to showcase and support some local suppliers / butchers and growers.
The Role
This is a really interesting role in running the busy pub, which is serving classic Pub style food. Driving the culture in food and beverage through your passion and skill as a chef. It’s a hands-on role and they are a very busy venue. Looking for cool under fire / collaborative man-management style. No Screamers – No ego’s! It’s a creative role with full menu design and the potential to help other with other venues the company own’s, so definitely room for career progression.
The Chef & The Crew:
This role will be based in the busy pub Bistro. As the Sous Chef you will be assisting the head chef running it with the support of a small team and the Family owners.
Aside from assisting the Head chef and running day-to-day operations, other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Hands-on with prep, service and running dockets
- Assist Head chef with Rosters and team management
- Assist with Menu designing and coming up with specials
- Helping Run Kitchen to Food and Labour %'s
$75-80K+S.
It’s a 42-44 hours, 5 day working week.
