Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact? Look no further! We are currently seeking a dedicated OT for a leading hospital within their Acute Mental Health ward for a fixed term contract starting immediately.
Reporting to the Rehabilitation Coordinator, you will play a vital role in a multidisciplinary team within a mental health inpatient ward, providing comprehensive assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation services to individuals. You will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to develop personalised treatment plans that promote recovery, independence, and overall well-being.
This fixed term contract role is based in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, with the need for someone as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify clients' strengths, challenges, and goals.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and therapeutic activities to enhance clients' functional abilities and coping skills.
- Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers to promote understanding and engagement in the treatment process.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care and holistic support for clients.
You will need:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
- At least of 1 year of experience working in acute mental health settings.
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions, crisis intervention techniques, and trauma-informed care principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
