This role sits within Business Banking (BB) Technology, providing technology solutions to Business Banking domains across Business Banking and CommSec. Within BB Technology, the Digital Domain focuses on technology enablement of digital engagement channels and covers the teams that support BB Digital and CommBank Smart Health, contributing to strategic BB and Customer NPS +30 outcomes.

Chapter Lead is an Engineering Manager and is accountable for leading a team of Systems Engineers around 8-10 direct reports.
Specifically, you will;
- Attract, hire, and retain industry-best engineering talent with positive engagement
- Build a world class Engineering Culture
- Develop the technical, interpersonal and leadership skills of the Engineering teams in a structured way
- Contribute to thought leadership on Engineering best practices
- Ensure technical design, engineering & quality practices; and accountability for adoption across engineering teams
- Be someone who likes to be hands on coding and collaborate with other engineers and participation in stand ups, design documentation, PR reviews are expected
- Promote CBA and developing our value proposition as an Engineering employer of choice.
- Lead the implementation of complex technical solutions in a SaaS and cloud-based environment.
- Ensure appropriate cyber security controls are implemented
- Communicate Engineering Practice standards and consistent ways of working across the domain and CBA that align to industry standards
- Understand the value of and enable the growth of diverse teams

- Have a strong track record with leading technology teams and uplifting engineering culture
- Have good system design/architecture knowledge
- Have very good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Have a growth mindset and can drive continuous improvements
- Possesses hands-on technical experience in CRM Salesforce integration and development
- Have built and designed data integration, microservices and workflow automation on AWS
- API development and integrations
- Proficient in developing applications using C#, .NET Core, Kafka, JavaScript frameworks (React), APIs and Databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Mongo DB and Aurora
- Have expertise in setting up DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, logging and monitoring tools (TeamCity, Octopus, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, Snyk and SonarQube)
- Have the ability to design solutions to meet the highest possible quality standards while simultaneously balancing security, performance, availability, and maintainability concerns
- Banking and financial services experience in a complex environment is preferred
