THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The Commission is a leading and highly regarded anti-corruption agency with vital functions under the Corruption, Crime and Misconduct Act 2003 (CCM Act) with respect to serious misconduct by public officers, organised crime and, since 1 September 2018, the confiscation of unexplained wealth and criminal benefits.
The Commission is also charged with important responsibilities under the Criminal Investigation (Covert Powers) Act 2012 (CICP Act) to oversight controlled operations conducted by specified law enforcement agencies under the CICP Act, and the Misuse of Drugs Act 1981 (MDA), Part 4B Border Search Area (BSA) conducted by WA Police Force.
Central to the performance and achievement of the Commission's functions is the strength of the Commission's Legal Services Directorate. The Inspection and Compliance Unit sits within the Legal Services Directorate of the Commission. As part of this Directorate you will work alongside a team of exceptional lawyers and paralegals who are motivated and passionate about their work, their team and their clients (who range from the Commissioner to the Chief Executive, Investigators, Assessors and other individual Commission Officers).
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Commission is looking for a motivated, suitably experienced individuals to join its dynamic team.
As an Assessment and Compliance Officer, you will be involved in the administration of the Commission's oversight of controlled operations conducted by specified law enforcement agencies under the CICP Act, MDA and the Commission's reporting obligations under both of the acts. The Assessment and Compliance Officer has responsibilities in relation to the CICP Act, MDA Act and CCM Act. The position assists the Inspection and Compliance Unit in supporting the inspections and audits of controlled operations conducted by specified law enforcement agencies and the Commission and border search area operations conducted by the WA Police Force.

The Commission requires applicants to be Australian citizens or be immediately eligible for citizenship, and appointment is conditional on satisfactory completion of a rigorous security clearance process.
