The Role & Client
Are you proficient in Australian SMSF tax regulations and eager to lead a dynamic team? u&u Recruitment Partners are exclusively supporting a fast-growing boutique accounting firm are looking to hire an experience SMSF Manager with exceptional communication skills.
As a key player in the team, you'll oversee the preparation of SMSF annual reports and tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian tax laws.
Key responsibilities include:
- Direct contact with a portfolio of established client, gathering necessary information to compile SMSF annual reports and tax returns;
- Organise and manage documents using our document management system (Google Drive);
- Generate tasks in the firm's workflow management system (Xero Practice Manager);
- Utilise BGL for all SMSF report and tax return preparations;
- Supervise and mentor a team of junior PHP staff, providing guidance on tax treatments and BGL processes;
- Review drafted returns completed by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and completeness;
- Coordinate with Auditors to facilitate a seamless process for each client;
- Issue invoices and e-sign documents for client authorisation; and
- Drive career progression by managing and training a growing team of junior staff.
Skills & Experience
- Fluent spoken and written English;
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Australian SMSF tax regulations;
- Proficiency in BGL 360;
- Experience in reviewing others' work and providing feedback;
- Familiarity with Auditors' procedures; and
- An understanding of cryptocurrency would be beneficial, as well as experience with cryptocurrency tax software such as Koinly or CryptoTax Calculator.
