Assistant Accountant

Based in Brisbane CBD, this renowned and award-winning property group has a rare opportunity for an ambitious junior accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. This role would suit someone who is career driven, enjoys working in a high-performance culture and is passionate about property.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this position presents an opportunity to develop across broad responsibilities within management reporting, financial accounting and transactional support.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to

• Assist with the finalisation of month-end and year-end accounts, including reconciliations, journals and reporting
• Assist in annual budget and quarterly reforecast process
• Cost review and analysis
• Cashflow reporting and tracking
• Assist with the preparation and lodgement of BAS’ and other statutory reporting requirements
• Provide support to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll
• Work collaboratively across both finance and operations in driving process improvement initiatives
• Support the Financial Controller and wider finance team
• Other ad-hoc tasks as require

The ideal candidate will be a degree qualified Accountant, with at least 2 years' relevant, commercial experience. However, a background in a chartered (specifically business services) environment would also be highly regarded. This role could suit a 1st or 2nd mover from business services.

You'll also have ambitions to study your CA/CPA and will have outstanding academic results, communication skills & presentation skills, as well as a desire to grow, progress and learn in a supportive, corporate environment.
