We're seeking a motivated assistant accountant or recent graduate (Bachelor of Accounting/Commerce) to join our high-performing Finance team as an Assistant Accountant based in our Melbourne office. You'll play a key role supporting the Finance Business Partner - Apparel Brands and the wider finance team whilst progressing your journey as an accountant.
Here's what you'll do:
- Assist the Finance Business Partners and broader finance team with achieving smooth month-end and year-end closes
- Help prepare monthly projections and 6-monthly budgets
- Manage the company's Corporate Credit Card program
- Support the Finance Business Partners with various ad hoc projects
- Contribute to improving financial processes, systems, and activities
We're looking for someone who:
- Has 1-2 years' experience in a similar role or is a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Commerce (or similar)
- Enjoys working with numbers and is actively pursuing (or interested in pursuing) CPA/CA qualifications
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail together with a commitment to delivering quality
- Excellent Excel skills are a must, accounting system experience is advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Has an interest in the FMCG/Retail sector
