REGISTERED NURSE - EMERGENCY CARE
Summary - About The Role
The Registered Nurse Emergency Ward is responsible for providing high quality clinical care for Residents within established policies, guidelines, and procedures of our client. Specifically, in the following:
- To provide healthcare to patients who urgently need treatment so that they can stabilize their vital signs and limit pain and discomfort. To provide safe, effective, and appropriate care in a patient focused ambulatory care environment.
- To identify the needs of a patient, filling out charts and intake paper and collecting information and samples so they can run tests.

As a Registered Nurse, Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Triage incoming patients based on level of injury or illness.
- Perform resuscitation and CPR as necessary to respond effectively to medical emergencies and ensure the immediate stabilization of patients in critical conditions.
- Deliver direct care to patients presenting to Emergency Ward with medical.
- Experience in working closely with emergency physicians and ER staff to schedule urgent care and discuss / plan patient treatment.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically under pressure, analyse complex situations, and make sound decisions to ensure the best possible outcomes to patients.
- Understanding of patient safety and quality education and delivery of services in accordance with the National Patient Safety and Quality Standards, Work Health & Safety Act, and Ministry of Health risk management frameworks
What We Require From You
- Recognised Post Graduate qualification in Emergency Care Nursing and/or 2 years equivalent clinical experience in the field.
- Evidence of prior service pay increment assessment completed.
- Evidence confirming qualifications (including specific qualifications requested for placements in ICU etc)
- A national police certificate, or proof of lodgement (receipt/tax invoice)
- A valid and up to date Ochre Card or approved exemption, or proof of lodgement (tax invoice)
- Up to date vaccinations and an immunisation form signed by a nurse immuniser or a GP as required by the Territorys Policy
- Essential Required Training (as applicable)
- The required registration under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and details of any conditions that may apply to a temporary personnels registration.
- Signed Deed of confidentiality
Location: Alice Springs
Contract: 4-12 weeks
