Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in bioinformatics, computer science, data science, software engineering/development, chemistry, biology, or related field.
  • Experience in the development of scientific software and data science tools.
  • Strong skills in multidisciplinary (scientific and technical) communication.
  • Familiarity with software development/data science teams, contributing to project/product codebases.
  • Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Python development; familiarity with SQL, Elasticsearch, bash scripting, Linux CLI, and Dataweave is a plus.
  • Proficiency with code repositories and development management tools (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Jira).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with visualization and analysis tools such as Plotly/Python Dash, Shiny, PowerBI, Jupyter notebook, Domino Data Lab.
  • Willingness to develop business analysis skills, capability to gather and analyze user requirements, proposing innovative solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects effectively and independently.
  • Self-starter, excellent teamwork, problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse scientific/technical backgrounds.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
