About the Agency

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.

To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities and other stakeholders.


About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective development, delivery, management, monitoring and administration of grants and funding programs to ensure the administration and delivery framework is aligned to best practice and meets the needs of NSW communities.


Reporting to the Manager, Grants Delivery, you will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and monitoring project plans and briefs, resources and budgets as well as preparing project-related documentation for key stakeholders. You will also be required to undertake research and analysis to support the administration of projects and programs with a focus on continuous improvement.


Key accountabilities for the role:

  • Coordinate a best practice grants management framework including systems, processes, objective setting, and technical input for funding requirements, compliance and reporting obligations
  • Contribute to the day-to-day planning and administration of grant and funding programs to support the allocation, monitoring, reporting and evaluations of funding in line with policies and procedures
  • Coordinate aspects of project planning, development and implementation for a range of projects including developing project plans, coordinating resources, managing budgets, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting project related activities, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope in line with established agency project management methodology
  • Undertake research and analysis identifying trends and emerging issues to support the administration of programs and key projects and improve processes
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support engagement, program development and implementation
  • Deliver assigned projects to deadlines and quality standards using robust project management methodologies and processes to achieve consistent high quality outcomes

About you

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting funding guidelines and providing advice on eligibility or guideline compliance
  • Demonstrated experience managing shared inboxes with a high volume of daily emails
  • Demonstrated project management experience including the ability to deliver work within tight timelines, be agile and prioritise across multiple tasks, take initiative and independently problem solve issues as they arise
  • Strong communications skills including written communication and experience interacting with external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, experience with financial data would be highly regarded
