About the Role
Public Sector People are partnering with a Local Council seeking an experienced Customer Service and Administration Assistant for a 4-Month Contract. This role is crucial in supporting the seamless functioning of the office, ensuring high-quality communication, and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
As the Customer Service and Administration Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Exceptional Customer Service:
- Provide high-quality, efficient, and courteous service to both internal and external customers.
- Handle inquiries via various channels such as phone, email, and website, ensuring prompt and helpful responses.
- Administrative Support for Transport Services:
- Assist in a range of administrative tasks to support transport-related services, including project tasks, community consultations, and preparation of documents like Traffic Committee items and agendas.
- Manage administrative duties related to traffic counts, GIS mapping, and data recording in document management systems.
- Effective Management of Customer Issues:
- Manage customer inquiries regarding parking issues, referring matters to relevant departments like Transport for NSW, NSW Police, or internal departments as necessary.
- Handle standard responses and ensure appropriate escalation of inquiries requiring technical expertise.
- Event Support and Project Administration:
- Provide support for events, including the production of temporary signage and coordination with Road Services.
- Assist in project administration tasks, especially during staff leave, to ensure continuity and efficiency.
- Financial and Operational Support:
- Assist in financial administration tasks such as preparing purchase orders and processing invoices.
- Support administration related to parking meters, including handling inquiries and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Business College or equivalent admin qualifications or local government experience.
- Word processing at 50 WPM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Experience in report and correspondence preparation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle diverse customer service and admin tasks efficiently.
- Effective workload management in a team under tight deadlines.
