About us:

Rockingham Montessori School is a co-educational Pre Kindy – Yr 12 School with 320 students located in Rockingham and Port Kennedy. The Montessori approach is based on mutual respect and co-operation. Our School is small by design and has a wonderful community feel where every child and family is treated as an individual.

Description:

We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated Secondary Trained Teacher to join the teaching team in our Adolescent Program for a full time position in 2024. The School seeks experienced applicants who are student centered in their approach to education. Montessori training is not required.

About the role:

The role involves teaching in our Adolescent Program, to provide a wonderful Montessori learning environment in which each child can grow to their full potential in all spheres of their development – social, intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual in accordance with Montessori philosophy.

The role of the teacher includes preparation of individual learning programs for students in their class. The teacher will lead and monitor the learning of each child, ensuring that the outcomes of the Montessori National Curriculum are achieved. Communicating student development to parents and working as a collaborative member of the educational team is essential along with discussing and planning for individual students to ensure that we achieve the best outcomes for every child.

Skills and experience:

The position would suit an enthusiastic teacher who has completed or is undertaking their Montessori training, or an outstanding teacher who is familiar with Montessori principles and learning environments and is willing to undertake the relevant training. All learning area specialists will be considered.
