Job Description

The City of Albany’s IT Team is looking for an experienced and qualified individual to take up the role of Technical Data Analyst.

Reporting to the Manager IT, this role will see you responsible for;

  • Maintaining the City’s electronic data including databases and data backups;
  • Configuring and maintaining Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and data integration between the between City IT systems;
  • Development and maintenance of the City data dictionary;
  • Contribute to the development of the Information Management Strategy, Polices and procedures;
  • Maintaining a technical Wiki, system documentation and procedures pertaining to the role;
  • Providing data managed related technical assistance to City stakeholders;
  • Working with subject matter experts across the City to understand their data management needs; and
  • Supporting and assisting with IT projects as required.

Desired Skills and Experience

Good analytical, problem solving and organisation skills, ability to control and coordinate projects and ability to recommend and explain data concepts to stakeholders is required for this role. The successful candidate will also need well-developed PC hardware knowledge, MS-SQL and Windows application and desktop operating system knowledge and skills. Experience with ETL tools, workflow tools like Power Automate, and spatial tools such as ESRI ArcGIS is desirable.

The successful candidate will need a degree qualification in IT or 2 years equivalent industry experience working in database management or similar role.
