Monkey Mia Reserve offers one of Australia's best known up-close wildlife experiences. Here you can stand within metres of wild bottlenose dolphins which visit the shores every morning.

Job Description

Under the immediate direction of the Marine Park Coordinator:

Presents interpretation and education programs, supports visitor services and management of the human-dolphin interaction at Monkey Mia Reserve, carries out ground maintenance, supports the volunteer program, collects fees, and assists with retail services.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following three (3) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.

  1. Some knowledge (Level 1) and experience (Level 2) in working in conservation estate management or a closely related field or technical area with a preference for some knowledge and experience in working with the tourism industry and or marine animals.
  2. Evidence of highly developed oral communication skills with demonstrated experience in liaising with the public, customer service, and some experience in presenting interpretative and educational packages.
  3. Evidence of well-developed written communication skills including computer skills (Microsoft and Adobe software) with some experience in developing interpretative and educational presentations and preparing articles for local media and newsletters.

Note: Successful applicants will be required to possess or obtain a current (issue date not older than 6 months) and satisfactory National Police Check and a current Working With Children Check card prior to commencement.
