We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join an established payroll team on a full-time, 3 month contract, with the opportunity to turn permanent. As the Payroll Officer, you will work closely with the Payroll Manager to perform end-to-end payroll processing duties using Xero and Astute software.

Our client is a well-respected ASX listed business in the mining and resources industry. They are currently looking to strengthen their payroll function with the hire of a 3 month contractor, and the chance to stay on.
Description
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the key duties of this role include:
- Responsible for end-to-end payroll and record keeping for the group.
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement within the payroll space.
- Provide accounts support.
- Maintenance and upkeep of payroll systems.
- The ability to understand and successfully operate Xero and Astute (or similar).
- Compliance to all relevant Payroll legislation.
Profile
The successful candidate will have a background working within a payroll team in a mining services environment. Key traits will also include:
- Worked in a similar role and industry.
- Experience with Xero and/or Astute or similar payroll systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Demonstrated administration skills in reporting, and time sheeting.
- Experience in interpreting Awards and Agreements.
- Experience working in the labour hire or construction industry (desirable).
