Description:
Role Description: We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer for a 9-month contract to primarily focus on Linux server builds, with additional responsibilities involving Windows server management. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our server infrastructure to support our business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, configure, and deploy Linux servers to support various applications and services.
- Manage Windows servers, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Implement automation tools and scripts to streamline server deployment and maintenance processes.
- Monitor server performance and ensure system reliability and availability.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement server solutions based on business requirements.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and security enhancements as needed.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer, with a focus on Linux server builds.
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Familiarity with Windows Server administration.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell).
- Knowledge of networking and storage technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Financial services industry experience is a plus.
