We are now currently taking expressions of interest for a NASAMS Lead on the Land 19 Phase 7B Support Program, providing support services for the advanced Short Range Ground Based Air Defence capability delivered under the acquisition contract to the Australian Army.
The NASAMS Lead is responsible for providing requirements, design, verification and validation support to Land19 Phase 7B NASAMS. The NASAMS Lead will apply advanced technical theories, methodologies, principle and expertise to provide innovative solutions to the current phase of the project, taking cognisance of cost and schedule constraints whilst ensuring adherence to processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, co-ordination and management of product engineering operations, including support to subcontract management and technical integrity risk management in accordance with the company's policies and procedures and ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
- Perform systems analysis to derive function, performance and interface requirements to satisfy the system requirements.
- Perform system design activities to ensure that the system architecture is compatible with the baselined product and is consistent across all subsystems and that the system design will meet the system level performance requirements.
- Maintain the design of the system including the specifications and interface requirements specifications.
- Development and maintain system level architecture design documents.
- Perform technical risk analysis.
- Plan, document and execute verification and validation activities.
- Identify project and product risks and escalate using the project's defined processes, initiating and recommending solutions through designated channels.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, suppliers and contractors and provision and planning of engineering resources, necessary to meet the project's technical obligations.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Deep understanding of Ground Based Air Defence systems is essential
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering in a relevant engineering discipline
- Demonstrated experience within a Defence environment highly desirable
- Minimum of 10 years' prior relevant experience, including involvement in one or more of the following practices:
- System Development
- Requirements Management
- Design
- Stakeholder Management
- Verification and Validation
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering Tools (e.g. DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler)
- Experience on the NASAMS Product Baseline is highly desirable
