About the Role

As the Head of Strategy, your main responsibility will be to assist the Regional Director of Health & Care in developing, communicating, and implementing strategic initiatives. You will serve as a thought leader, focusing on fostering, challenging, and facilitating strategic thinking across all levels of Civica APAC. Working closely with the Regional Directors and the senior management team, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations for important business decisions, support the implementation of strategic initiatives, and ensure effective communication of the strategic plan. In your role as the Head of Strategy, you will effectively leverage your team to fulfill these objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a strategic advisor to the Regional Director, providing insights and recommendations - leading the strategic planning activities of the Health Care division
  • Inspiring strategic thought within senior leadership and the broader management team to help shape ongoing strategy development and execution
  • Partnering with business leaders to support strategy alignment and execution of key initiatives, as well as innovation and "big picture" thinking
  • Driving planning, defining metrics, reporting, providing quality information, strategic updates, trends, and reports to the Regional Director and senior leadership
  • Providing direction and supporting the delivery of a strategic plan through an inclusive strategic planning process
  • Identifying opportunities for improving the Health Care division, including leading or supporting growth initiatives such as acquisitions and strategic alliances
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of strategy development and implementation & translating strategies into actionable and quantitative plans
  • Engaging with stakeholders across the Health Care division to ensure a comprehensive, collaborative, and inclusive strategy development process
  • Coaching and working collaboratively with business leaders to facilitate communication between teams and develop strategies and initiatives aligned with the Health division's goals and objectives
  • Leveraging external relationships with other parties that could strategically benefit the Health division, such as consulting firms, PHI Funds, health/medical businesses, and industry lobby groups
  • Developing and maintaining an independent view of all markets in which the Health & Care division operates for business planning and development
  • Providing senior leadership and the broader management team with insightful analysis of industry changes and conducting impact analyses to facilitate discussion and decision-making
  • Collating and analyzing internal data and current client insights to inform strategy plan development and measure ongoing performance against strategic objectives
  • Utilizing internal data, client insights, and industry knowledge to collaboratively develop specific strategies relating to marketing, product and pricing, business development, client service, and efficiency
  • Utilizing knowledge of Health & Care processes to inform product development and prioritization processes within the division
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements to the Civica Health & Care product and platforms
  • Identifying opportunities for "Greenfields" product development in the health & care industry
  • Preparing cost/benefit analyses for major strategic initiatives
  • Embracing risk management practices as part of normal business, including compliance with relevant standards and legislation, risk identification, control, and monitoring

Requirements

  • Extensive strategy development and execution experience
  • Advanced financial management, analysis and report writing skills
  • Strong commercial acumen, entrepreneurial approach
  • Effective communicator, both orally and in writing & ability to communicate to all levels of the organisation/facilitate discussion up to Board level
  • Strong interpersonal, influence and negotiation skills
  • Strong people leadership skills

Desirable

  • M&A experience
  • Experience in valuing businesses and challenging business models
  • Health & Care industry experience
