Salary from $45.13 up to $51.60 per hour plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)

About The Role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Events and Functions Officer to join our team. This position requires someone that has experience in the coordination and delivery of a variety of events including outdoor community events, functions and civic receptions.

As part of the Events Team, this position is also active in providing an event concierge service to external event organisers, supporting them through the approval process and facilitating stakeholder engagement.

This position is diverse in responsibility and will require you to work closely with multiple stakeholders and event organisers to collectively advance and promote Wollongong as a major event city.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate and deliver a wide range of community events including New Year's Eve Celebrations and/or Australia Day community events
  • Coordinate and deliver a variety of civic receptions, functions and other medium sized events
  • Provide support to groups and organisations looking to hold events in Wollongong. .
  • Facilitate the event approval process for external events
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and agencies.
