The Role:
As an Industry Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in coordinating operational outcomes, particularly in the area of apprenticeship attract, prepare, place, and retain. Working within a small team, you will utilise your networking skills to promote an industry, generate leads, match apprentices to employers, and provide mentoring support where needed. This role requires a highly motivated self-starter who can work autonomously, exhibit strong communication and time management skills, and achieve positive outcomes for the business and industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete a high level of administration/coordination while maintaining database (CRM)regarding all contacts and communication.
- Maintain relationships with secondary school career teachers, RTOs (Registered Training Organisations), Job Networks, and government agencies.
- Assist with engagement with industry stakeholders, such as manufacturers, government entities, and training providers.
- Assist with event coordination and promotional activities through educational programs and career expos.
- Maintain and update job vacancies, expanding company's reach to new employers in the field.
- Select and match suitable candidates with employers, ensuring a good fit and maximising apprentice retention.
- Coordinate work trials, placements, and onboarding processes for successful candidates.
- Provide guidance and support to apprentices, assisting them with career guidance and mentorship.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database platforms.
- Strong networking and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and a drive to achieve positive outcomes.
- Strong communication and time management abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously, use initiative, and deliver results.
- Knowledge of the construction/trades and VET industry would be desirable.
- Must possess current driver's license.
- Working with children card will need to be obtained.
