About Malanda State High School

We are a rural school catering for approximately 580 students in Years 7 to 12. Our dedicated team is committed to actively preparing every one of our students for life beyond school, where they are capable of enjoying the benefits of our society as a consequence of being actively employed. Due to our community and size we are able to engage with students and their families on an individual level to ensure students are supported to build their skills and knowledge, and achieve the academic results needed to leave our school bound for University, TAFE or to enter gainful employment. Our wide curriculum offering and personal approach to student development is producing outstanding outcomes for students of which we are justly proud.

About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
