Your new role

The Site Engineer is responsible for aiding the project staff in the pre-construction and construction stages of a project. The Site Engineer is also responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with the daily management, supervision, coordination and successful completion of the project(s) to meet time and cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding and contract administration functions.

The main responsibilities are:
• Project management support
• Client management support
• Procurement of project resources including labour, plant, equipment and materials
• Subcontractor and supplier engagement
• Addressing and reporting any project program related issues
• Collection of subcontractor and supplier dockets from site
• Collection of daily report forms from Site Supervisors
• Reviewing and approving subcontractor and supplier invoices
• Uploading subcontractor and supplier invoices to relevant accounting systems
• Project cost tracking support
• Preparing Zero Harm (HSEQ) documentation including plans and Safe Work Method Statements
• Conducting relevant site inspections
• Stopping unsafe work practices
• Reporting on the performance of the Zero Harm (HSEQ) system and on opportunities for improvement
• Zero Harm (HSEQ) systems management and compliance
• Implementing corrective actions
• Maintaining quality records

What you'll need to succeed

• Enrolment and active completion of a degree / tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience
• Intermediate / advanced use of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of PC-based programs including scheduling, estimating, drawing and database applications
• Drivers licence
• Demonstrated project administration experience
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience within Water / Civil Contracting
• Excellent time management / priority management skills
• Innovative (challenge what we do, drive industry best practice)
• Demonstrated knowledge and strong commitment to Zero Harm (HSEQ)
• Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team environment
• Ability to relate to and work with personnel from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds
• Have demonstrated energy, vision and passion for achievement under demanding time schedules
