Opportunity – Disability Support Worker Level 1
Disability Support Workers employed by Department of Communities are known as Social Trainers.
As a Disability Support Worker (Social Trainer) you will be supporting individuals with an intellectual disability or Autism to live their lives as independently as possible. This may involve support with their personal care including bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and toileting, household duties and community activities. Social Trainers may be required to work with either adults or children, in a variety of accommodation options, across the Perth Metropolitan Area.

We are currently seeking interested applicants to apply for casual and fixed term full time positions across the metro areas. (Locations listed below)

Things to Consider Before Applying
To be eligible you must:
- Be available to attend the entirety of the 4-week Full Time induction.
- Arrangements cannot be made to work specific shift times or days during this period, you must be available to work the rostered shifts as required on a full-time basis (there will be no overnight shifts during the induction period, but it will include weekends and afternoon/evenings in addition to daytime shifts).
- You will be required to travel to our Learning & Development Training Facility for some of this 4-week period (Will be held in either Perth or Shenton Park depending on numbers). The remainder of your 4 weeks induction will be rostered at one of our group homes.
- Hold a current Australian drivers licence.
- Successfully complete our criminal record screening.
- Pass a medical assessment.
- Obtain a NDIS Worker Screening when requested.
Based on prior experience and qualifications in Certificate IV in Disability you may be eligible to be considered for Social Trainer Level 2.
