The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services.
The Cassowary Area Community Health Service aims to support people who have an existing health condition which has the potential to lead to hospitalisation, either Emergency Department or hospital admission who, while not acutely ill, need access to time limited health care services to support self- management of their condition and to minimise their risk of hospital admission. Our Community Health service also includes a Post – Acute service and Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program.
Our staff are a part of the community we serve, and we strongly believe that health outcomes are enhanced by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of local health services.
