Rockhampton State High School was founded in 1919 and moved to its present position 1 Campbell Street in 1960. At our school, we assist students to grow and develop by offering a strong culture of support and by providing a wide range of opportunities.

About the Role

The Head of Department for Teaching, Learning and Literacy will be responsible for:

  • Reading Strategy - whole school implementation
  • Writing Strategy - whole school implementation
  • Literacy subjects - curriculum implementation and behaviour management
  • Whole school staff PD in Reading, Writing and Literacy
  • Curriculum support - literacy elements and student production of independent work
  • NAPLAN analysis - deficit areas and targeted responses
  • Formative skills testing and analysis
  • Pre and post test interventions and gains
  • Tracking progress
  • Celebrating Success - Academic and NAPLAN gains
  • AI/Serego
