About the Role
Black Star Pastry is thriving and we're looking for a qualified Pastry Chef to join our team, located at our gorgeous store in Chadstone the Fashion Capital.
Our Service Chefs play a critical role in the final stage of production for our gorgeous cakes, cutting, adding garnishes and ensuring quality control of all products.
This is a casual or part-time opportunity with availability required 3-4 days a week. Ideally Tuesday to Saturday.
About You
- Previous experience in a Pastry Chef role.
- Full understanding of how the role contributes to the success of the store, including a focus on quality control and operational efficiencies.
- Good working knowledge of the restaurant and hospitality industry.
- Able to build effective and constructive relationships – a true team player!
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and concisely.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Good judgement and confident to make informed decisions.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing business demands.
About the Business
Black Star Pastry opened its first boutique patisserie in Sydney in 2008 and since then we have grown into an institution with three more stores across Sydney, Melbourne’s iconic Prince of Wales precinct in St Kilda, and of course our ground breaking new store at Chadstone.
We are most famous for our Strawberry Watermelon Cake which has become a social media sensation, with the New York Times declaring it “the world’s most instagrammed cake.”
