Job Description & Summary
We are looking for a Head of Legal Operations & Transformation to join the Office of General Counsel (OGC) team. As a member of the team, you will bring transformation and operations experience within the in-house legal profession.
You will support the OGC team and your impact will be seen by:
- Providing focused and pragmatic solutions to efficiently manage a large in-house team (including the OGC budget).
- Working with the team to understand transformation requirements and to implement new solutions and tools.
- Developing and implementing strategy and processes for prioritising team responsibilities and resources and achieving better efficiency and effectiveness.
- Tracking the teams' objectives, performance, and developing improvement opportunities.
- Supporting the General Counsel and OGC team in functional transformation projects.
- Developing, implementing and managing processes and systems to track legal spend, accruals, and budgets in order to identify cost saving opportunities.
- Reporting on insights and spending trends.
- Assist with the establishment of a formal legal firm panel.
- Providing a risk management framework for the legal team, including setting up systems and processes to manage the legal team's risks.
About You:
- You are a legal operations professional that has worked in large scale in-house teams including having the skills to design and maintain business processes, financial management and technology expertise.
- You understand the technology systems available in the legal market, including technology that generates efficiencies and costs savings.
- You understand and have experience in legal services.
- You have experience and confidence in dealing with and assisting senior management (both in written and verbal communications), including an ability to draft clear and precise communications.
- You have strong operations and implementation skills
- You have excellent interpersonal and commercial skills, as well as an ability to build relationships and influence with impact.
- You have the ability to identify and consider critical and key issues, assess and articulate project and transformation risks (including likelihood and impact).
