Your new role
This position as Senior Risk Analyst will partner with Member Operations business units (i.e. Insurance Ops & Claims, Administration, Fraud, Arrears, Strategic Relationship team) to enable the operation and management of their risk and controls, incident, obligations profile in line with the Fund's Risk Management Framework. In this highly visible role, the successful candidate will be a natural relationship builder who is influential and has the ability to provide practical and tailored risk management solutions to Member Operations business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of first line activities across Member Operation business unit.
The successful candidate will:
- Support and execute aspects of the Line 1 Risk & Controls program to mature the end-to-end risk control environment
- Have a key role in driving risk and control management assessments, thematic and incident-related management and reviews
- Support policy implementation and operationalization into the business unit within Member Operations.
- Communicate and present the outcomes of these activities to senior business stakeholders through regular engagement and appropriate risk reporting/dashboards.
What you'll need
Essential:
- 5+ years' experience in operations risk and controls management, ideally working in the Financial Services
- Strong knowledge of operations (especially Insurance), risk, compliance frameworks as well as incident management practices
- Ability to translate complex and technical information into relatable terms and concepts.
- An ability to analyse trends (risks, controls, incidents etc), diagnose problems and issues and then recommend actions dealing with underlying root causes
- Ability to influence and develop and maintain high quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside the Fund.
- Extensive experience in working autonomously, setting and managing conflicting priorities and meeting specified timeframes.
Desirable:
- Experience in a Financial Services/Superannuation environment with Insurance background, Risk and Compliance
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline
