Your new role

The role of Senior Investment Risk Analyst sits within the Investment Operations & Reporting department, this would be an ideal role for someone with Market Risk, Investment Risk and Liquidity Risk experience. This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of Australia's most extensive multi asset portfolios and the opportunity to showcase your eye for detail and exceptional analytical skills.

The key service deliverables of Investment Operations & Reporting include:

  • The delivery of transaction management and valuation processes
  • The management and monitoring of the fund's cash, securities lending and collateral & margining commitments
  • The completion of investment activities and ensuring a complete and timely investment book of record (ibor)
  • The management and maintenance of "source of truth" investment & investment operational datasets
  • The provision of oversight and quality assurance of the daily crediting rates
  • The management of transaction lifecycle support for infrastructure, property, private equity and private credit
  • The co-ordination and management of activities associated to the implementation of new investments activity
  • The measurement, analysis and reporting of investment performance and risk
  • The management of the ongoing valuation process of the fund's directly held private market assets

The role of Senior Investment Risk Analyst primarily exists to:

  • Provide independent investment risk reporting to Investments, the Investment Committee, and the Board
  • Provide independent liquidity risk reporting
  • Reporting of Risk compared to allowable option mandate ranges and escalating triggers or breaches
  • Develop new risk reports that identify and explain key risks and their drivers
  • Produce and present portfolio impacts from stress testing and scenario analysis

What you'll need

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Advanced quantitative skills and highly adept at complex problem solving. An understanding of investment principles, investment instruments and financial markets
  • Highly proficient at taking complex data and information sets and simplifying it to present information concisely and comprehensibly
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders, work collectively with team members in a flexible and fast paced environment, ensuring reporting timelines are met.
  • Experience with relevant investment risk models and system providers highly desirable
  • A relevant post-tertiary qualification in finance or risk (e.g. CFA, FRM, PRM, Masters of Applied Finance)
  • Change management experience, including testing and validation as well as working with project teams to deliver investment risk outcomes.

Desirable:

  • 5+ years of market risk experience
  • Liquidity Risk experience
  • Familiar with market risk models for multiple asset classes across public and provide markets
  • Experience with Python and Power BI analyse and report data
