About BaptistCare Warabrook Aged Care Facility

Set amongst picturesque gardens and a host of convenient amenities, the Warabrook Centre is located in the suburb of Warabrook in Newcastle.

As a well-established centre that supports 153 residents, Warabrook’s trained staff provide kind, friendly and personalised services including respite, palliative and dementia care.

About the role

At BaptistCare, we’re about our residents. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, a diverse opportunity exists for an experienced handyperson to undertake general maintenance duties to ensure our residents’ homes are well-maintained and regulatory compliant.

You will anticipate, arrange and carry out repairs as required and assist with work orders. You will coordinate and manage the register of keys, and rotate through the room checklist and repair items as required. You will also assist in managing the fire panel for isolations and assist with de-cantering residents’ rooms as required.

This is a great opportunity for a strong multi-tasker who likes to work quickly to achieve goals within set timeframes and within budget.

This is a Permanent Full time position.


About you

Experience in aged care and residential facilities is desirable but not essential. General computer skills are essential and you must hold a current NSW driver’s license.

  • Previous experience as a labourer highly desired
  • You have a hands-on approach with a "can do attitude"
  • Confidence using hand power tools including Lawn and Gardening tools
  • Trade certificate not required
  • Enjoys lawn maintenance & gardening and working outdoors
  • Has an understanding of Work, Health and Safety practices
  • Willingness to obtain chemical handling training

Pay: $26.18/hr + super + salary packaging
