The Head of Program Delivery & Optimisation role oversees the execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring they meet time, budget, and quality standards through agile delivery optimisation. As the Agile Methodology subject matter expert, this position leads agile practices at scale across the Loyalty business. It drives continuous improvement through agile frameworks and managing a team of portfolio delivery managers to define project scopes and timelines effectively. Key responsibilities include leading strategic planning and resource allocation, aligning projects with organisational goals, and developing strategic OKRs in collaboration with the Strategy team. The role manages a broad range of projects, from small-scale initiatives to major undertakings, and leads a team of around 25. This position is also charged with owning the project delivery framework, ensuring agile methodologies are consistently applied across the organisation to enhance operational efficiency. It establishes and monitors KPIs, fostering continuous improvement and effective stakeholder collaboration. Risk management and team leadership skills are integral, with a focus on mentoring, guiding the team, and contributing to the broader Leadership team. As a strategic leader, the Head of Program Delivery & Optimisation plays a critical role in aligning Qantas Loyalty's project delivery efforts with its strategic objectives, ensuring agility and high-quality outcomes. What you’ll bring to the role:
  • 8 –10 years of experience in project delivery with minimum 5 years in portfolio delivery
  • Subject matter expertise in Agile methodology with extensive experience applying it within a business with demonstrated success
  • Experienced OKR and KPI practitioner.
  • Strong commitment to business improvement and ability to drive change
  • Ability to make things happen by influencing senior stakeholders, collaboration with chapter/enablement leads to effect change and influencing c-suite
  • Experience in creating and optimising scalable, efficient delivery methodologies and frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in running major programs with matrix reporting in large organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability in delivering projects on time and in line with critical success factors.
  • Influencing skills to drive Program outcomes.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong team spirit.
  • Ability to translate business ideas and strategies into detailed approaches and plans.
  • Ability to manage cross functional projects which involve diverse areas across Loyalty.
  • Ability to allocate resources to ensure the optimisation of resources and Risk management
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to build constructive and effective working relationships with senior management.
  • Strategic vision to translate organisational goals into a delivery strategy, aligning project initiatives with business objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to quickly understand and apply new concepts.
  • Organisational skills and ability to prioritise conflicting tasks
