Job Description : Our client operates a 35,000+ha mixed farm operation incorporating a 20,0000-ha blend of broad-acre cereal & cotton farming, with the balance being grazing land. Our client has asked us to find them a Farm Hand to join the farming side of the operation, but who would also be willing to help with the cattle work if they have the skills and desire to do so. You will join an established team of over ten long-term employees who work across all aspects of the farm depending on business needs.
Along with the usual variety of machinery found on a farm of this size, you will be operating the following late-model equipment:-
- Case QuadTrak or Case 500 Magnum,
- JD8R 370, JD 8370, JD8345,
- Case patriot 4450 Sprayer,
- BOSS Air Seeder (18m), Flexicoil planter and cart
Working with the farm owner and senior staff members, you will be undertaking a wide variety of tasks that include, but not limited to :-
- Operate and maintain machinery to a high standard under direction from management.
- Take responsibility for the machine you are operating. Report any damage, breakdowns and above all look after it, keep it clean.
- Service the machine you are operating, don't assume someone else has done pre-start checks/daily service.
- You will be required to work some night shifts at peak times of the season.
- Be aware of other operations happening on the property that may impact your assigned task. (e.g spray drift onto other crops.)
- Maintain a safe workplace at all times, ASK questions if unsure about a job.
- Be able to work as part of a team towards a common goal or outcome.
- Must be flexible with assigned tasks, this job is highly varied, you won’t always be doing the same thing from day to day.

- Arrive at work on time, ready for the day or shift.
- Be able to work unsupervised at an assigned task.
- Maintain your assigned work vehicle in good order, Keep it clean and tidy.
- Keep your house / quarters clean and tidy, report any problems to management.
- Understand the variable nature of farming. There are times of the year that are very busy and others that are not.
- Be extra careful when driving around the station area. There are small children around.
- Mobile phones for personal calls are not permitted during work hours.
- Acts of aggression or fighting will not be tolerated at any time.
- No dogs are allowed on-site.
