About the Role
This is a full time temporary position to 29 September 2024 (end of Term 3) with the option for extension. The role will be based in the Gladstone Regional office and will require some travel, including overnight stays.As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will have the responsibility for undertaking the following key tasks:

* Provide advice and support to school staff regarding financial management, including but not limited to accounts payable and receivable, asset accounting, banking, budgeting and reporting, financial policy and delegations, financial systems and taxation.
* Undertake analysis of the financial management practices and financial performance of schools to provide advice on emerging issues and opportunities for improvements to current practices and processes.
* Monitor the level of financial management competencies with schools to provide targeted training, coaching and development programs.
* Contribute toward the achievement of state-wide objectives for school financial capability improvement.
* Identify system or policy requirements to support development and communication of effective accounting policies and procedures.
* Provide direct support to your allocated schools, as well as supporting other schools across the Central Queensland Region when required.

About You
To be successful in the Senior Finance Business Partner role you will possess the following:

* Strong financial management experience and the ability to explain challenging financial concepts to clients in an easy to understand manner.
* High level data analysis and reporting skills (ie. Microsoft Excel) and technological skills (MS Teams and similar).
* Confidence in providing face to face and virtual training to groups and individuals.
* Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders to ensure that knowledge and information is shared.
* Willingness to exercise initiative in identifying financial risks and opportunities and areas where support is needed.
* Capability to interpret policies and procedures and understand their practical application in schools.
